This CHAS troop was well worthwhile doing even if it was less than an hour in costume to get a bunch of photos of us with some of the kids and staff to be honest. Not that there’s many of those as despite having used the camera before Colin managed to not take a single picture every time he pressed the button.
We were given a tour afterwards by one of the staff, Peter. I tell you that was hard going. I mean intellectually, I knew what happens there but it’s not something you think too hard about but then when you’re standing in the Rainbow Room or you look along the corridor with the photos of the kids particularly the ones with the butterflies or dragon flies in the corner it’s a different matter. So regardless of actual time in costume, or how long the drive to and from is, its still worthwhile giving up my time to help them out.
